Fisheries Minister Stuart Nash has announced the creation of Fisheries New Zealand, a business group within MPI dedicated to fisheries.  

Along with Fisheries New Zealand, 3 other new business units are being established. The new business units aim to provide an increased focus on some of MPI's core responsibilities and will align the structure of MPI to Ministerial portfolios.
