An in-season TAC increase of 88 tonnes for Southern Bluefin Tuna (STN1) has been approved. 76 tonnes of this will be allocated to commercial fishing, 20 tonnes to recreational fishing, 1 tonne to customary fishing and 20 tonnes for fishing related mortality.

Gazette publication is expected this Thursday the 19th of April, following which the additional ACE will be allocated the next day, Friday the 20th of April. 

If the notice is not published in the gazette on the 19th, the allocation will be delayed until the day after the notification does get published. 

From 1 October 2018, the TACC for STN1 will revert to the TACC that applies at the beginning of that fishing year.
