Fisheries NZ Consultation - Proposed temporary closures of pāua fishery around Open Bay Islands & Jackson Bay
Fisheries New Zealand seeks feedback on proposed temporary closures of the pāua fishery around Popotai Taumaka (Open Bay Islands) and at Ōkahu (Jackson Bay), on the West Coast of the South Island.
Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio have applied for temporary closures under section 186B of the Fisheries Act 1996 to the harvesting of pāua at:
- Popotai Taumaka (Open Bay Islands)
- Ōkahu (Jackson Bay)
The consultation closes on 5pm on Monday the 1st of November 2021.
