Fisheries New Zealand consultation - Bylaws for the Rāpaki Mātaitai
Following the consultation that closed on 13 December 2019, Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki have revised some of the proposed bylaws for shellfish within the mātaitai. The bylaws for finfish and seaweed are unchanged.
The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki now propose to also close the mātaitai to the harvest of both pipi and tio (oysters).
Fisheries New Zealand considers that the revised bylaws have changed sufficiently from the first consultation to warrant reopening submissions.
This further consultation closes 5pm on 31 July 2020.
