Te Ngāi Tū Ahuriri Rūnanga has applied for a mātaitai reserve along the coastline north of Amberley Beach in North Canterbury. Fisheries New Zealand and Ngāi Tū Ahuriri will hold a public meeting on the application and invites submissions on the proposal.

A public meeting on the application will be held on 30 May 2019. The closing date for written submissions from the local community is 24 June 2019 and a second round of consultation will take place after the local submissions have closed.
