EPIRB requirements have changed for fishing vessels;

• between 7.5 and 24 metres in length, and
• that operate outside of enclosed waters.

These fishing vessels will be required to have a float-free EPIRB installed onboard from the 1st of January 2019. Further information is available on the Maritime NZ website here.

EPRIB requirements for other commercial fishing vessels have not changed.
