Add a Mobile GPR

Use the guide below to find out how to add a mobile GPR.
A mobile GPR is used for fishing without a vessel OR on more than one vessel, and it is registered to your client number rather than a specific vessel.
If you intend to use the GPR on one vessel only (i.e. fixed), you must register it to that vessel instead. Refer to the Add a Fixed GPR guide for more information.
To convert an existing fixed GPR to a mobile GPR, contact us on 04 460 9555 instead.
You must have a Supplier Declaration form to do this, and the supplier of your GPR should have provided you one. You must contact them for a copy of the form if they have not provided one.

Add a Mobile GPR
Step | Description |
1 | Click the Licences tab. Note: You must be signed into FishServe and have Vessel or Permit Manager authorisation to do this. Vessel Manager authorisation is required to link a mobile GPR to vessels. ![]() |
2 | The Vessels screen will display. Click Mobile GPRs in the side-menu. ![]() |
3 | A pop-up will display asking you if you intend to use the mobile GPR on more than one vessel or for fishing without a vessel. Click Yes. Note: If you intend to use the GPR on one vessel only, you must register it to that vessel instead. Refer to the Add a Fixed GPR guide for more information. ![]() |
4 | The Mobile screen displays. Any other mobile GPRs registered to your client number appear here. Click Register new mobile GPR. ![]() |

The Mobile GPR Registration screen displays. A Supplier Declaration form is required to complete this, and the supplier of your GPR should have provided you one. You must contact them for a copy of the form if they have not. Enter the information exactly as it appears on the Supplier Declaration form in the corresponding fields. |
6 | Once you have entered the required information, you will need to provide a copy of the Supplier Declaration. This can either be:
To upload the Supplier Declaration, choose Select File from the drop-down menu. Next, click the Select File button and choose the file(s) to upload from your PC. ![]() |
7 | Next, tick the Authorisation box if you agree.![]() |
8 | Once you have provided all the required information, click Proceed to payment.![]() |
9 | Payment methods vary based on your pre-payment status. You can pay by either invoice OR credit card ONLY if you are pre-paid exempt. To pay by invoice, go to step 10. You must pay by credit card if you are not pre-paid exempt. To do this, go to step 11. |
Paying by Invoice | |
10 | To pay by invoice, select By Invoice from the drop-down menu. Click Pay and Submit Mobile GPR Application. The transaction charge will appear on your next statement for payment. Go to step 12. ![]() |
Paying by Credit Card | |
11 | Payment by credit card is required unless you are preapproved. Click Pay and Submit Mobile GPR Application. A Paystation pop-up will display. Enter your card details, then click Pay Now. Do not close or exit the browser while payment processes. ![]() Note: You can still pay by credit card even if you are pre-paid exempt. To do this, select Credit Card from the drop-down list and click Pay and Submit Mobile GPR Application. ![]() |

Your application is sent to FishServe for approval. If you intend to use the mobile GPR for fishing without a vessel, the process ends when your application is approved. If you intend to use the mobile GPR on more than one vessel, go to step 13. |
Linking Vessels | |

If you intend to use the mobile GPR on more than one vessel, you must link the mobile GPR to each vessel on which it will be used after your application is approved. Start by clicking Vessels in the side-menu. |

The Vessel Summary screen will display. If the vessel does not have a GPR, go step 15. |
No Existing GPR | |
15 | If the vessel does not have a GPR, click Add GPR.![]() |
16 | The Register GPR screen will display. Using the drop-down menu under Do you intend to use a mobile GPR for this vessel?, select Yes. Another field will appear underneath. Use the drop-down menu to select the mobile GPR from the list. ![]() |
17 | After selecting the mobile GPR, scroll down and click Submit GPR Application. Go to step 24. ![]() |
Existing GPR | |
18 | If the vessel already has a GPR, click Amend.![]() |
19 | The Amend Vessel screen will display. Click 5. Geospatial Position Reporting device (GPR) to open the GPR section. ![]() |
20 | If the vessel is already linked to a mobile GPR, go step 21. If the vessel is already linked to a fixed GPR, go to step 22. |
Existing Mobile GPR | |
21 | Use the drop-down menu under Please select the Mobile GPR that will be used to select a different mobile GPR from the list. Go to step 23. ![]() |
Existing Fixed GPR | |
22 | Using the drop-down menu under Do you intend to use a mobile GPR for this vessel?, change the answer to Yes. Another field will appear underneath. Use the drop-down menu to select the mobile GPR from the list. ![]() |
23 | After selecting the mobile GPR, scroll down and click Amend Vessel Application. Go to step 24. ![]() |
24 | You will return to the Vessels screen. To add the mobile GPR to more vessels, return to step 13 and repeat as required. |
