FRED
FRED is an online tool that allows you to run reports using live up-to-date-data from the Quota Share and ACE Registers via the internet. It also gives you access to aggregated ACE and Quota transfer prices and aggregated Catch figures (the old Blue Book data). You will get access to different reports depending on your subscription type.
The following reports are available:
- ACE Owned
- ACE Owned by Stock
- ACE Transfer Prices
- Quota Owned
- Quota Owned by Stock
- Catch vs ACE Comparison
- TAC/TACC for Quota Stocks
- Port Prices
- ACE Transfer Prices
- Quota Transfer Prices
Subscribing to FRED
In order to subscribe to FRED, you must be a current FishServe Client and be registered for Online Services. To become a FishServe client the following Application Forms need to be completed and sent to FishServe for processing:
Once you have logged into the FishServe website you will be able to subscribe to FRED or FRED Lite and run reports by selecting the Reports menu item.
From here you will be presented with the FRED homepage where you can select the ‘Subscribe to FRED’ button.
Subscription Levels
There are two subscription levels for FRED. These are FRED and FRED Lite (the old Blue Book). Each subscription level gives you access to different reports.

The costs of subscribing to FRED and FRED Lite are detailed below (NZ$):

Generating and Printing Reports
Once you have selected the report you wish to run, generating that report is a simple three step process:
- Provide the required report criteria.
- Select your payment method. If you have a subscription and your report is covered by that subscription, you will not be required to pay.
- Select Run Report.
Once Run Report is selected, the system will display the result set on screen. The system will also provide the ability to download a CSV or PDF of the result set that can be used offline.
In some cases, when the result set contains a large set of data, for example, when the ACE owned by Stock report is run for all fishing years, the system will not display any results on screen and will only provide the ability to download a CSV.
If you run the same report with same criteria within a 24 hour period from when it was first run, you will not have to pay for the report again
